FABTECH 2024 Canada Panel- Women are Key to Creating New Workplace Cultures: Here鈥檚 How Employers Can Empower Them
Toronto, ON, June 6, 2024 鈥 With听听showing a steady decline for women advancing in the workplace, with almost 50% of women at entry levels and 28% at C-Suite ranks 鈥 and the numbers being lower for women of colour 鈥 a panel of women in manufacturing will explore what can be done to transform workplaces of tomorrow.
The panelists will share their insights at听, the premier event for the metal fabricating industry, taking place this year at the Toronto Congress Centre from June 11 to 13. The session, entitled听How Associations and Employers can Empower Women to Create New Workplace Cultures听gets underway on June 13 at 12:30 p.m.
Moderated by听Daniela Todaro,听General Manager of Cambridge, ON-based Bothwell Steel,听Samuel, Son & Co., the panel includes听Rebecca Sanguigni,听Manager of Strategy & Corporate Development at Etobicoke, ON-based Metalogics,听Jen Coulson, Trader for Brampton, ON-based Triple M Metal, and听Marissa McMurray, Regional Communications Manager, USA for Pittsburgh, PA-based Hatch.
The panel will address the current state of workplace cultures and the unique challenges women face, while highlighting the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in fostering innovative and resilient work environments. It will explore strategies for how employers can implement a supportive atmosphere for women, and practical solutions for how professional associations can support leadership training, mentorship programs, and听strategies for addressing unconscious bias in the workplace.
