CWB Welding Foundation Overview
The CWB Welding Foundation is a national not-for-profit registered charity, founded by the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) in 2013, dedicated to advancing careers in trades and technology, including welding and materials joining. Committed to preparing the future workforce and fostering inclusivity, we collaborate with partners to support the demand for skilled professionals, contributing to North America’s economic prosperity.Â
Our mission is to forge partnerships between industry, education and government that enable individuals across North America to build great careers in welding and related industries through encouraging awareness, training, and the promotion of best practices through a quality educational experience, impartial advocacy and greater accessibility.
We focus on access to careers in trades and technology, utilizing welding as a gateway skill with many career pathways in high demand across North American industry sectors. Through innovative programs and investments, we reduce barriers and promote awareness and access to career exploration. We envision a future where all individuals are encouraged and provided the support needed to reach their true career potential regardless of identity factors, social and financial status, and lived experiences, including gender, age, ethnicity, language, literacy, culture, income, and geographical location.
