Course Overview

This course will cover a wide range of topics related to pressure testing generally, with a specific emphasis on hydrostatic testing of oil and gas pipelines according to CSA Z662 and other applicable Canadian regulations.

This 15-hour asynchronous, self-directed course will cover the theoretical background and practical aspects of pressure testing. Powered by our dynamic Learning Management System, learners will have 90-day access to all online lessons, interactions, exams and course material.

Knowledge check exercises are unique to this course and individuals will learn how to calculate different variables related to hydrostatic testing. This course is equally beneficial for managers, engineers, supervisors, and field inspectors associated with the pipeline industry. This includes an understanding of the:

  • Testing theory
  • Establishing the safe pressure test requirement and environment
  • Test set up and sequence
  • Test Instrumentation and documentation
